80 Mile Ride May 14th, 2011

Really getting started now with the longer rides. With all the rain, its been very hard to get out and ride. Saturday was overcast, but very warm. The Utah Velo club is fun to ride with, but we only had 12 riders Saturday. I hope this Saturday we can see more come out. I have only 3 more weeks until the TOUR De-Cure in Brigham City. I HOPE IT DOES NOT RAIN again like the last 2 years.
I pulled most the way back home that day. Stan Swallow (ride leader) asked me what I did to increase my strenght..I did several things, road the trainer since Jan. P90X almost everyday during the weeks of or months of Feb.-April. AND Changed, my Diet. We as a family eat more Fruits and Veggies. We also have cut milk and gluten from our diet. ok, well we have pizza every now and then.

August 24th I, Jayson Conely and a Friend I can not spell or pronounce her name right, road up Squaw Peak, South Fork, and Alpine Loop all in one ride. It was a challenge we have been planning for over a year. It was fun, but I was ready to quit by about mile 55. The three climbs were just almost too much.
I AM NOW AT 1647 miles for the year. YEA!

Tour De- Cure 2010
June 12th, 2010 was my 5th year riding 100 miles for diebetes in Brigham City, Utah. I got 300+ dollars in pledges this year and loved the ride. The Wind was bad but kepted the rain away until the very end. We had a much smaller team this year, but raised 8,000+ dollars for the cure.
I now sit at 1100 miles for the year. Mine and a Friends goal is 3000 for the year. We can do it if the rain slows a bit.

Thsi will be my 5th year in a row.
Lots of earth quakes around the world. Hatti, Chili and Turkey all above a 6.0 with Hatti at the top with a 8.8. Hope we are safe here in Utah. We are doing a Mock disaster in our neighbor this weekend an dI hope it goes well and we all learn something that will help us prepare.

Last month (August 5th-8th I went with the Priest Qourum to Moab. We visited the Arches, Dead Horse Point and the colorado river. We also did some 4 wheel driving to antoher arch called Gemini Bridge. We saw a great star show the first night in the sky and a terential rain storm after getting off the river Friday.
